Treatment of the Future Available Today
At F.I.T. PhysioTherapy, we not only practice cutting-edge technology, we develop it. Below is a list of unique treatments that are available.

SCOLIO-THERAPY: A New Approach for the Treatment of Scoliosis
Scolio-therapy is a comprehensive program that combines multiple treatment methods including muscle stimulation, Pneu weight traction, and specialized exercises specifically tailored for each patient. We also use advanced biofeedback taping techniques designed by our therapist. We have used our approach successfully in the past; we hope to improve the outcome of scoliosis patients in the future. DYNAMIC REALIGNMENT
Dynamic Realignment is the brainchild of Eric Brummer. It is actually an extension of the asymmetrical exercise technology developed for Scolio-Therapy, only it addresses a wider population of spinal clinical conditions. Essentially, it is a compilation of various cardiovascular exercises while simultaneously incorporating very specific strengthening exercises. The evaluation for and prescription of the program are very sophisticated, requiring an in-depth understanding of pathomachinics and advanced expertise in exercise physiology. The type of Dynamic Realignment program each patient performs is tailored to their clinical condition and needs. For example, treadmill workouts can be combined with core stabilization, core extension bias, or core flexion bias. Asymmetrical programs are used for sacroiliac instabilities, as well as adult and child scoliosis. Dynamic stabilization has many advantages over traditional therapeutic exercise. It decreases the time required to work out, because it combines CV and strengthening. It also develops spinal and pelvic stabilizing muscles in the most functional way. The program can be adapted for healthy asymptomatic individuals looking to combine strengthening and body sculpting with their cardiovascular workout.
ADVANCED TAPING TECHNIQUES
The taping techniques we use at F.I.T. PhysioTherapy are the culmination of our therapists' 20 years of experience in taping musculoskeletal injuries. In many cases, our taping methods have been created by him and are not used anywhere else. He has developed taping techniques for every body part, for a plethora of orthopedic conditions including tendonitis, such as lateral epicondylitis and Achilles tendonitis, neural compression syndromes, such as carpal and cubital tunnel syndromes, joint laxity, such as anterior shoulder subluxation and sacroiliac instability, bone mal-alignments, such as lateral tracking patella, osteoarthritis of the knee, and scoliosis. We also use taping as a biofeedback method to promote proper spinal posture, which is essential for a healthy spine. We think that taping is one of the strongest treatment methods that can be employed in any orthopedic clinic.
HYDRO-STIM THERAPY
F.I.T. PhysioTherapy utilizes a unique form of electric stimulation we term hydro-stimulation, which combines the use of hydro-therapy and electric stimulation simultaneously.
CONTINUOUS PASSIVE MOTION
The CPM is a machine that imparts motion on a joint, usually post-surgically. However, we use it for treatment of tendonitis, which is a unique and innovative use of the machine used at F.I.T. PhysioTherapy. The CPM is used at night during sleep or periods of rest. The constant slow passive motion promotes nutrient delivery and waste removal, as well as appropriate organized tissue repair.
ADVANCED TRACTION SYSTEMS
Traction is a treatment that has been used to treat back and neck pain throughout the ages. It has been packaged in many different forms, such as the original anatomotor, the modern traction table we use, and the fancy Vax-D and DRX or DRS machines. All incorporate the same force which separates the space between the vertebrae. Some devices are more impressive and entertaining, but all are effective. Traction is the only treatment that has proven conclusively to reduce disc bulging. Traction is used by many clinics with success. However, to master its use requires in-depth understanding and extensive experience. There are cases in which patients that have failed with traction at another facility responded well when performed by us. We have devised systems of harness placement, angle of pull, patient position, and force level and duration of time to specifically address each patient's condition. We have even occasionally used our machine for limb traction.
PNEU WEIGHT TECHNOLOGY
The Pneu weight is a versatile, state-of-the-art un-weighting system with many uses. We use it as a vertical traction device to treat back pain and disc injuries. A great feature of the Pneu weight is that it can be used simultaneously with exercise. Another advantage of vertical traction is that it doesn't produce the same high level of fluid absorption present with horizontal traction. Less absorption often equates to less post-traction soreness. We also use the Pneu weight as part of our comprehensive scolio-therapy program. It is very effective for treating lower extremity conditions, such as post-surgical knee injuries, because the patient is able to ambulate sooner and with less pain. This enables them to receive more advanced functional exercise earlier in their treatment program. The Pneu weight is also useful for treating patients with balance deficits. These patients can be challenged without risk of incurring injury from falling because the Pneu weight incorporates a harness that keeps them secure.
COLD LASER
Cold laser is a modality which incorporates the use of red light waves that promote improvement in micro-circulation and tissue healing. It is used for treating various conditions including carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome, tendonitis and other injuries, particularly those which are close to the surface, such as injuries to the hand.
PERSONALIZED EXERCISE PROGRAMS
F.I.T. PhysioTherapy has a wide variety of state-of-the-art exercise equipment you may or may not find at other facilities. What is unique at F.I.T. PhysioTherapy is the way we incorporate this equipment in patient treatment.
